This book began with questions and answers in the author's parish bulletin in 1987. Eventually, replies were provided for bulletins in about a dozen parishes. It soon became obvious that questions requiring lengthy answers could not be treated adequately in this limited format.

So, early in 1991, a question-and-answer column was created in a national Catholic weekly publication. Since then, more than 1,000 questions have been answered.
